The North American behavioral health M&A market remained strong in the first half of 2024, with 68 transactions recorded. Although the deal volume saw a slight decline of 5.3% compared to 2023, the behavioral health sector remains highly active, with 144 transactions over the past twelve months.
 
Both strategic and financial buyers are actively pursuing growth through acquisitions. Beacon Behavioral Hospital, supported by Latticework Capital Management and Resolute Capital Partners, led the way with eight acquisitions in the first half of 2024.
 
The main drivers for M&A in this sector include geographic expansion, diversification of services, and increasing patient numbers.
