The DAK Group Announces Sale of Mat-Pac, Inc. to AmerCareRoyal, LLC

Rochelle Park, NJ – The DAK Group, a leading investment bank specializing in middle-market mergers and acquisitions worldwide, announces the sale of its client Mat-Pac, Inc. to ACR (AmerCareRoyal, LLC), backed by HCI Equity Partners (HCI).

The DAK Group served as the exclusive financial advisor to Mat-Pac.

With this transaction Mat-Pac’s owners have been able to monetize the exceptional business that they have built, while simultaneously maintaining an ownership stake and being able to reach a broader audience” stated Michael Richmond, Managing Director of The DAK Group, who lead the transaction along with support from Matt Wisneski, Analyst and Derek Zacarias, Director.

This transaction capitalizes on Mat-Pac’s leadership position in the North American foodservice and janitorial/sanitation (JanSan) markets where it provides paper, plastic, aluminum and sustainable packaging solutions. Mat-Pac is well known for its high level of customer service and commitment to quality products, as evidenced by long standing relationships it has maintained with customers across the United States. Founded in 1988 in a spare bedroom, Mat-Pac has grown, over its 35+ year history, into a major global sourcing and leading industry supplier in the foodservice sector.

The DAK Group led a highly competitive process that attracted interest from both Strategic and Financial investors, with ACR ultimately emerging as the ideal partner.

Manny Jimenez, CEO and founder of Mat-Pac commented: “I know my business inside and out, but when it came to planning my next step, I knew I needed help from someone I could trust. The DAK team was invaluable in identifying potential partners and collaborating with me throughout the process. They did the heavy lifting, so I could continue to grow the business, they were there the whole time, and I am thrilled with the outcome

Integral to  the success of the deal was the skilled professionals at Day Pitney: Thomas Zalewski and John Kaschak, at Withum: Bill Hagaman and Brian Wallce and at CohnReznick: Ryan Kessler and Claudine Cohen.

VCI is the preeminent full lifecycle sales and service provider of emergency ambulance solutions to first aid squads, EMS organizations, fire departments, hospital organizations, municipalities, and private medical transport companies in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
