Rochelle Park, NJ - The DAK Group, Ltd. announced the sale of Oak Ridge, NJ- based Amesil, Inc. to W.L. Gore & Associates. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
W.L. Gore is best known as the inventors of GORE-TEX® expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), used extensively in outdoor activity clothing, as well as in high performance fabrics, medical implants, filter media, insulation for wires and cables, gaskets and sealants. Based in Newark, DE, Gore has annual sales of approximately $2 billion and is also a leading manufacturer of advanced technology products for the electronics, industrial, fabrics and medical markets. Gore is one of only four companies to be included in every edition of Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" since the list began in 1984.
Established in 1997, Amesil has grown rapidly into a premiere manufacturer of non-reactive fluid transport, containment and sampling solutions, serving the pharmaceutical and bioprocess markets. Initially a producer of tubing, hose and molded products from the highest-purity biopharmaceutical grade silicone, the Company has recently transformed itself dramatically, developing an array of proprietary collection and sampling systems, bio-compatible, closed systems enabling testing and sampling while maintaining the integrity of the medium. Amesil is a subsidiary of Ames Rubber Corporation, the Hamburg, NJ-based manufacturer of rubber parts primarily for the office automation market, which was the winner of the 1993 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in the small business category.
Amesil will be integrated into GORE™ PharmBIO Products, a leading supplier of high-value technology products to the pharmaceutical industry.
